ABOUT cHRIS


Chris Rodgers-Wilson grew up in Melbourne, starting ballet classes at the age of six. He trained at the Camberwell District Ballet School  before moving to London to study at The Royal Ballet School. Upon graduating he joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2007, performing in the Uk and internationally in a diverse range of ballets by Sir Frederick Ashton, SIr Kenneth Macmillan rr r, Sir peter Wright as well as modern choreographers Twyla Tharp and Hans Van Manen.
He returned home to join the Australian Ballet in 2011, progressing through the ranks to Senior Artist in 2019. His repertoire with the company included principal roles such as Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, the Prince in the Nutcracker, Camille de Roussilon in The Merry Widow, The Knave of Hearta in Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Franz in Coppelia and the Bluebird in David McAllister’s The Sleeping Beauty. His contemporary repertoire included featured roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Wayne McGregor’s’ Chroma and Infra, Jiri Kylian’s Perit Mort & Everywhere We Go by Justin Peck. Chris retired in 2023 and is studying psychology and working as a freelance creative.
